Privacy Policy
This is a working draft, not final and not legal advice. Tarn is in preview with real practitioner accounts, so the section below describes what actually happens to a dream today — not what is planned. A reviewed policy will replace this draft. The principles below are the point either way; they hold whether or not the legal language has caught up to them.
Our privacy principles
A dream is among the most personal things a person can share. So privacy is not a setting in Tarn. It is the same ethic as the product, applied to your data.
- Your dream is yours. You own what you write. Export it or delete it at any time, and deletion means gone, not hidden.
- Sensitive by default. Dream content is handled as sensitive data: encrypted in transit and at rest, with access limited to the people directly involved.
- Only you and your practitioner. A dream you send is visible to you and the practitioner you choose. No one else, inside or outside Tarn.
- Never the training data. Your dreams are not used to train models, and never will be without your explicit, opt-in consent, given per use and revocable.
- We collect the least. No advertising trackers, no profiling, no selling data. Only what the tool needs to do its work.
- Offered, never taken. The product's rule is the privacy rule: nothing happens to your dream unless you grant it, and you can withdraw the grant.
Where your dream goes
When you enter a dream, it is sent to Tarn’s server and on to Anthropic, the AI provider that generates the reading. There is no way to produce a reading without this — it is how the tool works. Tarn does not keep a copy of that request: the reading is generated and returned, and nothing is written to disk in that step. That statement is about Tarn only — we do not speak for what Anthropic retains under its own terms.
If you save a dream to a dreamer, it is stored on Tarn’s servers under your practitioner account, and stays there until you delete it. Deleting a dream removes it and its readings from our database.
If Tarn cannot reach its servers — a dropped connection, a failed save — your work is kept in your browser so it is not lost, and moves to your vault as soon as the connection returns. That is the only time a copy is held locally. Clearing your browser data removes it, and does not affect anything already saved to your vault.
Signing in uses a one-time link sent to your email. We record which practitioner you are so your caseload is yours; there are no passwords.
Dream content is never used to train models, and never appears in our analytics.
Dreams are sensitive
A dream can be personal. When Tarn is live, dream content will be treated as sensitive information: encrypted in transit and at rest, visible only to the dreamer and the practitioner they choose, and never sold or used to train models without explicit, opt-in consent.
What a live version would collect
- Practitioner account details (name, email).
- Dreams submitted by dreamers, and the reflections returned.
- Prep notes a practitioner creates for a session.
Each would be handled under the sensitivity commitments above, with access limited to the people directly involved.
Your choices
When live, you will be able to export or delete your data, and withdraw consent at any time. Questions about privacy can go to the contact page.
